Reelect Michael Sesma to the Gaithersburg City Council

I’m running for reelection to the Gaithersburg City Council because I believe the citizens of Gaithersburg deserve and expect:

  • A responsive, transparent City government
  • A responsible approach to managing growth and its impact on schools, traffic and public safety
  • Innovation in economic development
  • A sound fiscal policy
  • A sustainable and green city
  • A better Quality of Life for all of Gaithersburg
  • Accountability from their elected officials

These are the obligations I have had to the citizens of Gaithersburg since first elected to the City Council in 2005. It has been an honor and privilege to fulfill these commitments to you.

My work and leadership on the City Council has focused on insuring the quality of life that makes Gaithersburg a Great American City while building a framework to position and prepare Gaithersburg for the immediate and future opportunities and challenges of a revived and growing economy.  I have acted to promote the vital interests of residents and families while pursuing innovative approaches to support local businesses and build a sustainable economy.  This requires a commitment to realistic solutions, not grandstanding.  It requires a belief in transparent, open and common sense government that works for everyone.  It requires an open mind, a readiness to listen and careful judgment.  These are the commitments I have brought since first being elected to the City Council and what I promise will continue.

I will continue to work to develop a comprehensive strategy to stimulate and reward business investments that enhance economic vitality and diversity; to innovate, create and implement programs that promote environmental protection, energy conservation and sustainability; and to refine policies and practices to maintain and strengthen the city as an exceptional place for families to live, work, learn and play.

I ask for your vote on November 7 so that I can continue to provide responsive and responsible leadership as a member of the Gaithersburg City Council.
